1940’s Working Imperial Model 58 – New Ribbon – Stationary/Office Typing Machine
Working Imperial Model 58 typewriter in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was produced in the late 1940’s. Regardless of such old age, the Imperial black machine works very well! The comfortable keys are responsive and it provides customisable functions for comfortable typing. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, margin setters, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This British made typewriter is fitted with a new ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it and without any hassle. It also comes with the original metal spools.
Please note that this is a stationary/office typewriter so it is heavier than the portable models – the weight is around 13kg. Shipping can be arranged but at extra cost.
The overall condition is good. All letter keys work well without sticking and only few fraction keys stick. Minor signs of use and age are present.
The vintage Imperial typewriter is located in London, UK.
