1950’s Very Rare Working Invicta Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Glass Keys – Red – Made In Italy
Working Invicta vintage, manual portable typewriter in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was produced in the late 1940’s or early 1950’s. Regardless of such old age, the machine works very well! The comfortable glass keys are responsive and it provides customisable functions for comfortable typing. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This very rare, red typewriter is fitted with a new ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it and without any hassle. Also comes with the original case.
The overall condition is good. There are some obvious signs of use and age. The handle is missing and the case does not lock properly. Some of the original paint has been scratched off and a different shade of red reapplied. At times, the upper halves of the letter does not print fully – this does not occur often however. Apart from that, the typewriter functions as expected and is nice to type with.
This intriguing red Invicta model would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also be a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.
The Invict typewriter is located in London, UK.
