1920’s Working Rare The Empire 1 – New Ribbon, Case, Key – Williams Typewriter Company
Working The Empire 1 antique, manual portable typewriter in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was produced in the 1920’s by Williams Typewriter Company. Regardless of such old age, the machine works very well! We have extensively tested this machine and all of the basic functionalities work as expected. A custom new ribbon has been installed that should last for 9-12 months. The Empire also comes with a large wooden case and the original metal key.
The overall condition is excellent. The keys type well and only few stick at times. There is no significant signs of rust. Minor signs of use and age on the case.
You can remove it from the wooden base and use it for display purposes. As this is a working machine, you can also use it for typing notes, poems, letters and so on.
The antique Empire 1 typewriter is located in London, UK.
