1920’s Working Remington Portable Typewriter – New Ribbon, Original Case – Folding Keyboard
Working Remington Portable vintage, manual portable typewriter in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was produced in the 1920’s. Regardless of such old age, the Remington machine works very well! The comfortable keys are responsive and it provides customisable functions for comfortable typing. The backspace, carriage return lever, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This British made typewriter is fitted with a new ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it and without any hassle. Also comes with the original case.
The overall condition is good. The keys type well and the typewriter works as expected. The original handle is missing and a key or two might stick at first. Other signs of use and age are present and case is in shabby condition.
This typewriter has the folding keyboard feature. There is a lever on the right side that lifts the keys up and activates the typing mode. The keys should be in horizontal configuration if it will be transported.
The Remington Portable typewriter would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also be a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the Remington typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.
The vintage Remington Portable typewriter is located in London, UK.
