1920’s Working Remington Portable Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Rare Original Grey Colour
Working Remington vintage, manual portable typewriter in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was manufactured in the 1920’s.
The Remington is restored, serviced and works very well! The comfortable glass keys in metal rims are responsive and it provides customisable functions for enjoyable typing. The backspace, carriage return lever, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This USA made typewriter is a very rare original grey colour. The typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it, without any hassle. Also comes with the original case.
The overall condition is good. The keys type well and the typewriter works as expected. The original carry handle is missing and has been replaced with a hand made one. Other signs of use and age are present and the case is in a slightly shabby condition.
Please note that the carry case lock core does not work, therefore the strap is provided for safe transfer.
The Remington Portable typewriter would be ideal for writers, authors and journalists, especially in the creative field. The Remington’s smooth flow when typing, inspired Agatha Christie and Mark Twain to create the world famous masterpieces. It will also be a unique gift, as a stimulating sound of the bell at the end of every line provides a great incentive to write the next line! Due to the style and the aesthetics of the Remington typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.
The vintage Remington Portable typewriter is located in London, UK.
