Working Royal ‘P’ Model vintage, manual portable typewriter available in London, UK. The typewriter was manufactured in 1926 in ‘the typewriter capital of the world’ of Hartford,USA.
Despite being of such old age, the machine still functions exquisitely! Light responsive keys are designed for fast touch typing, producing a clear print impression. The keys are glass in metal rims. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, margin setters, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release have incredibly good action. This American made typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it, without any hassle. Also comes with the manual and the original case which has a comfortable carry handle.
The overall condition is great. Minor signs of use and age are present and light discoloration inside some keys, which is insignificant for an almost 100 years old typewriter.
This sleek and glossy machine would be ideal for writers, authors and journalists, especially in the creative field. The Royal typewriter was one of Ernest Hemingway’s and Ian Fleming’s favourite typewriters. It would also be a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the black Royal typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.
The vintage Royal typewriter is located in London, UK.
