1930’s Rare Working Empire Baby – New Ribbon, Case – Made in England
Working Empire Baby vintage, manual portable typewriter in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was produced in late 1930’s. Regardless of such old age, the Empire typing machine works very well! The comfortable keys are responsive and it provides customisable functions for comfortable typing. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, margin setters, the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This British made typewriter is fitted with a new ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it and without any hassle. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.
This is a rare model as it is the earlier version of the Hermes Aristocrat. You may notice that there is no caps lock or ribbon colour switch.
Manufactured by British Typewriters Ltd. West Bromwich, England.
The overall condition is excellent. The keys type well and only few stick at times. Minor signs of use and age are present.
The Empire Baby typewriter would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also be a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the working Empire typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.
