1930’s Working Remington Portable Model 5 Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case

Working Remington Model 5 Portable vintage, manual portable typewriter in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was produced in the mid to late 1930’s. Regardless of such old age, the American made machine works very well!  The comfortable keys are responsive and it provides customisable functions for comfortable typing. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This Remington typewriter is fitted with a new ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it and without any hassle. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.

Please note that the typewriter for sale is only slightly cosmetically different than the one in the photos – it has different decals and case. The model and the mechanism is still the same as shown.

The overall condition is excellent. The keys type well and all of the features work. Minor signs of age and wear are present.

The Remington Model 5 typewriter would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also be a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the black Remington typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.

The vintage Remington Portable Model 5 typewriter is located in London, UK.
