Working 1940’s Imperial “The Good Companion” manual portable typewriter in London, UK. This series of Imperial typewriters begun in the 30’s and this specific model was produced in the 40’s. The Good Companion is in very good working order. The keys and levers function as they should. The vintage typewriter provides a range of settings to make your typing just the way you like it: allowing to set different margins, colour switching and others. This English made typewriter is fitted with a new ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it and without any hassle. Imperial Good Companion has these very useful handles which greatly improve its portability. It comes with a black case which has a comfortable handle.

Please note that the typewriter for sale is only slightly cosmetically different to the one in the photos – the decals are in better condition.
Other than that, the overall condition is very good, the keys type well and the carriage moves smoothly. I have oiled and tested all of the keys however some might be sticky at first. Other minor signs of use and age are present.
The retro typewriter would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also be a unique gift.
