1960’s Working Adler Primus – New Ribbon, Case – Made in Western Germany
Working Adler Primus vintage, manual portable typewriter in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was produced in the mid-1960s. Regardless of such old age, the machine works very well! The comfortable keys are responsive and it provides customisable functions for comfortable typing. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. The Adler typewriter is fitted with a new ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it and without any hassle. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.
Made in Western Germany.
Please also note that the font of the Adler is different to the generic typewriter typeface.
The overall condition is good. The keys type without sticking and it generally functions as expected. Minor signs of use and age are present. Case has scratches and other signs of wear and tear.
Also please note that the right margin is not present and that two levers are missing the plastic handles.
This intriguing word processor would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also be a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the Adler Primus typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.
