Elegant Late 1930s Imperial The Good Companion Model T Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in England
The world of typewriters still surprises us when we come across a rare beauty such as this late 1930s Imperial, The Good Companion Model T typewriter.
This English made Imperial gained the second part of its title ‘The Good Companion’ with the permission of the famous English novelist J.B. Priestley who, by then had published his book ‘The Good Companions’ which became a best seller. Later, the Imperial typewriter, received the ‘By Royal Appointment’ insignia and was widely used in the royal household, consequently it became popular amongst the general public.
The Imperial Good Companion Model T offered for sale is in very good condition. All of the mechanisms work very well and the keys type sharply, giving the user confidence in use. At the end of each line there is a strong sound from the bell, letting the typist know it’s time to move to the next line.
All the chroming is preserved in original condition. The keys are protected with glass and metal rims.
The Imperial comes with a new black ink ribbon and is ready for action. The original case with a leather handle is provided.
Overall condition is very good. Minor signs of age and use are present – please refer to photos.
