The 1950s Groma portable typewriter is proven to be a desirable model amongst typewriter collectors, as it is one of the finest examples of high quality German engineering.
This model was designed for foreign markets and it contains a sign of ‘Mayfair’ and the Sterling symbol, so we think designed to sell in the English market.
The Groma works perfectly well. The chrome details are almost untouched by age. The positioning of the keys allow the typist to put their hands comfortably flat to prevent any strain on hands. Therefore, the typing process is fluid and noiseless.
The Groma is supplied with a new black ink ribbon, so it is ready for immediate use. The sturdy case is well designed and overall, it gives a sophisticated look to the typewriter.
Please note there are two insignificant scratch lines on the left of the top cover – refer to photos.
The olive Groma would suit typists of any typing ability, generation or profession. This slim model would be a perfect choice if you are planning to travel for a writing retreat. It would also be a dazzling present for any occasion.
