For Typing in English and Icelandic – Working And Serviced 1973 Brother De Luxe Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in Japan


Here at London Typewriters it is always exciting to come across and service a typewriter with unusual features; this particular Brother De Luxe typewriter is exactly that, as it is designed to type in Icelandic!

This typewriter was manufactured in July 1973, by the world renowned office and other equipment manufacturer, Brother.

The Brother De Luxe has received a full service in our workshop. The keys respond without sticking and now type very well. Rest of the mechanisms are also in perfect working order.

It comes with its original case which shows a bit of wear and tear however with readjustment closes as it should.

A new black ribbon is installed and the machine is ready for action.

Please note that the Brother De Luxe typewriter is designed to type in English and Icelandic. There are two currency symbols, pounds sterling and US dollar.

Overall condition for this fifty year old typewriter is good. Minor signs of age and use are very visible – please refer to photos.

The Brother De Luxe typewriter would be suitable for multilingual typists and typists who wish to learn the melodic language of the country well-known for its dramatic landscape and fairy tales about elves.
