Petite 1956 Hermes Baby Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case, Manual – Made in Switzerland

London Typewriters are delighted to present for sale a working Hermes Baby typewriter from 1956, made by the SwissΒ  manufacturer, renowned for producing high quality typewriters.

The Hermes Baby works very well. All of the mechanisms work as intended and the keys type smoothly with a gentle and pleasant sound. The green key buttons are wide allowing the typist to place finger tips comfortably.

What is unusual for this typewriter is that it contains a dollar symbol and a British pound symbol too. This feature is rather rare to find with the majority of typewriters.

There is a new black ribbon installed and the typewriter is ready for action. It comes with the case which has a comfortable handle.

Weight and dimensions: 3.6 kg (8lb.), 11 1/4″ x 11 1/4″ x 2 5/8″ (286mm x 286mm x 67mm)

The overall condition is very good. All letter keys type well. Minor signs of use and age are present. Please refer to the photos.

The Hermes Baby typewriter would be ideal for beginners and typists as the keys do not require much force. The typewriter is small in size and light in weight, therefore it is very appropriate to take with you if you are planning a creative writing retreat. It appeals to all generations.
