Working Rare 1930s Blue Bird Vintage Manual Typewriter
Working Blue Bird vintage, manual portable typewriter. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was produced in the late 1930’s. Regardless of such old age, the machine works very well! The comfortable glass keys are responsive and it provides customisable functions for comfortable typing. The backspace, carriage return lever, the shift keys, carriage lock, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever all work as intended. This iconic black typewriter is fitted with a new ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it and without any hassle. Also comes with the original case and brush.
I believe it was made in Germany for export and sold in Great Britain right before WW2.
The overall condition is excellent. All of the keys work and it types well. The Blue Bird typewriter shows minor use of wear and age. The bell seems not to function frequently, hence the reduced price.
This black typewriter would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also be a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.
