Rare Working 1940s Invicta MP1, marketed as ‘Harrods’- New Ribbon, Case – Glass Keys – Velvety Grey Colour- Made In Italy
Working Invicta MP1 vintage, manual portable typewriter, marketed as ‘Harrods’, in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was produced in the late 1940s and it was manufactured specifically for the the designer store in London, UK.
Regardless of such old age, the machine works fantastically well! The comfortable glass keys in metal rims are responsive and it provides customisable functions for enjoyable typing. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This rare typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.
The overall condition is excellent. All of the keys type well without sticking. Minor signs of age and use are present.
The luxury looking velvety grey Invicta model would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also be a unique gift. Due to the Art Deco looking style and the aesthetics of the typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.
