Royal De Luxe Working Typewriter (1951)-Grey-New Ribbon, Case – Made in USA
Royal De Luxe working typewriter in London, UK. The typewriter was manufactured in 1951, in USA and it is one of the last models made in USA before the manufacture moved to Europe. Taking into account the typewriter is almost seventy years old, it works perfectly well and retains all its functions. Light, comfortable keys are responsive and it provides satisfying functions for comfortable typing. This particular typewriter makes the typist feel almost at one with the words they are typing, away from modern distractions with more focus on the ideas typed on paper. The backspace, carriage return lever, the shift keys, carriage lock, advanced margin setters, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. The typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it and without any hassle. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.
The overall condition is superb. Types smoothly and the keys feel comfortable. Minor signs of use and age are present. Please note that the case is in a slightly shabby condition.
The retro grey typewriter would be ideal for professionals (screenwriters, journalists etc), who already have the skills and expertise for typing on a manual typewriter. Great minds like Ernest Hemingway and Ian Fleming favoured the Royal typewriter. This model would also be a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.
