Working 1937 Imperial The Good Companion Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Stone Grey – Made In England


Working Imperial The Good Companion typewriter was manufactured in 1937, in Leicester, England.

This Imperial typewriter retains all its functions and works very well! The comfortable keys are responsive and solid when typing and it provides a sense of confidence and firmness to the typist when typing.

The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon colour switch, the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended.

The majority of typewriters have a rubber platen (roller). This Imperial The Good Companion has a cork platen which makes the typing process feel softer when the keys strike the ribbon and the platen.

The typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon and it is ready for immediate action. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.

The overall condition is very good. All of the keys work as expected. Minor signs of age and use are present. Please note that the case has been reconditioned

The colour of the Imperial is stone grey.

The Imperial Good Companion Model T, which is very similar to the typewriter offered for sale, was a favourite of John Lennon’s!
