Working 1939 Rheinmetall Portable Typewriter – New Ribbon, Dust Cover – For Typing In German – Made In Germany

The Rheinmetall typewriter is another remarkable example of indisputably reliable German engineering. This maroon model was made in 1939.

Despite such old age, the machine retains all necessary functions and works well. Smooth, light and almost noiseless keys provide for an enjoyable experience when typing. All the mechanisms work in harmony as would be expected from a high-performance product. The Reihnmetall is supplied with a new black ribbon and therefore it can be used straight after it has been purchased.

This particular Rheinmetall is designed to type in German (first six letter keys are QWERTZ). It can be used for typing in English, where first six letter keys are QWERTY.

The overall condition of the typewriter is good. Minor signs of age and use are present – please refer to photos.

Unfortunately, there is no case for this typewriter. But a dust cover is provided, so it can safely rest on a desk and the cover prevents dust getting into the machine.

A famous Russian novelist Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn typed his world famous novels on one of the latest Rheinmetall models.

The Rheinmetall is a typewriter for all generations and for various professions. It could also be an eye-catching present for any occasion.

The Rheinmetall typewriter is located in London (U.K.)
