Working 1939 Royal Quiet Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Superb Condition – Made in USA

Working vintage Royal Quiet portable typewriter available in London (U.K.).

The typewriter was manufactured in 1939, in USA.

Despite its age, the machine still functions exquisitely well! The light responsive keys are designed for fast touch typing, producing a clear print impression. The letters on the keys are in metal rims and protected by a cover to prevent them from wearing. The original chroming is well preserved. All the mechanisms are incredibly good and have a quiet action.

The Royal is supplied with a touch regulator, enabling the typist to adjust the keys to suit their own touch sensation.

This American made typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable carry handle.

The overall condition is great. Minor signs of use and age are present.

This is a compact machine with a cast iron surface and would be ideal for writers, authors and journalists, especially in the creative field. The Royal typewriter was one of Ernest Hemingway’s and Ian Fleming’s favourite typewriters. It would also make a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the grey Royal typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It would appeal to all generations.
