Working 1950’s Olympia SM2 Manual Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Green – Made in Western Germany
Fully working Olympia SM2 vintage, manual portable typewriter in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was manufactured in the 1950’s. Despite such old age, the German made machine works very well and retains all its original chroming! The sturdy keys give a feeling of confidence and reliability to the typist. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon colour switch, the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This sturdy Olympia typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it, without any hassle. Also it comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.
The overall condition is good. It types well and it is very clean. Minor cosmetic signs of use and age are present on the typewriter and case. Please refer to the photos.
Please note that the case lock does not function properly. The safety strap is provided for secure transportation of the typewriter.
