Working Remington Quiet – Riter vintage, manual portable typewriter in London (U.K.). The typewriter was manufactured in the 1950s, in USA.
The Remington Quiet-Riter works well! The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever and the paper release lever all work as intended.
The typewriter is designed for typing in tables. Therefore, it has a lever for setting and clearing tabs. Also, the typist would be able to adjust the keys resistance to suit their own personal touch preference.
The Remington Quiet – Riter is fitted with a new ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.
The overall condition is good. The letter keys type without sticking and the Remington functions as expected. Minor signs of age and use are present – please refer to photos. Please note that the key with 1/2 and 1/4 does not work.
The Remington typewriter would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also make a unique gift.
