Working 1950s Smith Corona Sterling Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case
Working Smith Corona Sterling vintage, manual portable typewriter in London (U.K.). This 1950s Smith-Corona Sterling works very well! The comfortable keys are light and smooth and require a very little effort to type. The keys are manufactured with a slight concave indentation which allows fingertips to sit comfortably on the keys, ready for inspiration and action! The backspace, carriage return lever, bell, shift keys, margin setters, ribbon colour switch, carriage release lever, paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This portable Smith Corona typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon, so it is ready for immediate use. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.
The overall condition is very good. The keys type well and the machine functions as expected. Minor signs of use and age are present. Please refer to the photos.
This retro Smith Corona Sterling typewriter would suit a typist of any generation, with or without previous typing skills, creating a good solid impression on paper, despite its age. The rich grey colour of the typewriter compliments very well the green keys and therefore the Smith Corona would look attractive in any home decor.
