London Typewriters are pleased to offer for sale a Hermes Baby ultra-light typewriter from the Swiss world famous typewriter company, which produced precision and quality in the world famous Hermes typewriter brand.

This typewriter was made in 1952 and still works very well after a thorough restoration including disassembly (photo attached), cleaning, lubrication and later fine adjustments to ensure perfect function.

The Hermes Baby is designed for typing in French because it has the Azerty key layout. At the same time, it can also be used for typing in English as it also contains all the necessary letters for typing in English.

A new black ribbon has been installed and the machine is ready to go. The set includes a case with a durable handle.

Its overall mechanical and cosmetic condition is very good. The Hermes Baby works as intended. Very minor signs of age and use are present.

John Steinbeck, one of America’s greatest writers, typed some of his novels, such as The Grapes of Wrath, on a Hermes Baby typewriter.
