Working 1960s Remington Typewriter – Schreibmaschine – New Ribbon, Case, Manual – QWERTZ (German language keys)
London Typewriters offer for sale a Remington portable typewriter, which was manufactured in the 1960s. The country of origin is unknown, but we believe it was made in Europe.
The Remington works well. The sharp responsive keys work smoothly and this provides confidence to the typist during the typing process. All the mechanisms work as intended. At the end of each line, the bell gives an impressive ‘Ding’ sound.
A new black ink ribbon has been installed and the typewriter is ready for immediate operation. The original case is provided which has a comfortable handle for convenient portability.
Overall condition is very good. Minor signs of age and use are present.
This Remington typewriter is designed to type in the German language. However, it can be adapted for use of other languages. If you compare the keyboard of the English keyboard to the German keyboard, there are only two letters in different positions, the Z and Y.
The typewriter could be a starting point for a typewriter novice. It will also be a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the Remington typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.
