Working 1962 Hermes 3000 Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Cursive Typeface – Very Good Condition – Made in Switzerland

London Typewriters are excited to present for sale a stunning Hermes 3000 portable typewriter, which was manufactured in 1962, in Switzerland.

The Hermes 3000 is a desirable model amongst typewriter enthusiasts as it has proved to be a well-built machine, with a soft key action.

The typewriter offered for sale is in good working order. All of the keys work perfectly and all the mechanisms function very well.

What makes this particular Hermes 3000 stand out is its unique cursive typeface. Also, there are two currency signs: the pound sterling and the dollar. It has the @ and # signs.

Additionally, the Hermes 3000 is equipped with an advanced margin setting facility and tab mechanisms.

It comes with a case and two cleaning brushes. There is a new black ink ribbon installed and the typewriter is ready for immediate use.

Overall condition is very good. There are very minor signs of age and use present.

The Hermes typewriter is associated with Tom Hanks, who is an avid typewriter enthusiast, as it was his first serious typewriter. Later, he became a keen admirer of typewriters and last year he published a book of short stories, ‘Uncommon Type’, where a typewriter was central in every story.

The sophisticated Hermes 3000 would be ideal for artists and other professionals in a creative field due to the style of the typeface. It would also be a reliable companion for typing long projects or books. If you are looking for a present or a centrepiece for any occasion, the Hermes 3000 would make a strong impression!
