Working 1964 Smith-Corona Classic Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Mint Colour

London Typewriters offer for sale a sympathetically restored 1964 Smith-Corona Classic typewriter.

The Smith-Corona Classic works well and this particular typewriter is comfortable to use, is its light and smooth key action. The keys are concave shaped for better contact resulting in a satisfying typing experience.

This model is designed to type in tables as it has a tab option. Also, the typist is able to use a two colour ribbon, usually black and red, at the same time. The user can choose from three different line spacing options, to suit their preferred page layout.

This typewriter has undergone a sympathetic restoration and works well. However, London Typewriters decided not to overpaint the typewriter and leave it in its original condition. Some minor wear and tear is present. The lock of the case has been repaired (photo attached) and the white plastic ‘Clear’ button is missing, but it is not essential as the key works without the button.

The video of the operation of the typewriter will be provided by us after it has been purchased.

The Smith-Corona Classic typewriter is relatively rare and cannot be found on the open market, compared to other widely manufactured models.

The Smith-Corona Classic typewriter would prove ideal for typists who require a light key touch, although it would be suitable for typists with any level of typing experience. Manufactured in the 1960s this model would be suitable for those with a nostalgia for that era or for ant themed event replicating the 60s.
