Working 1965 Olympia SM8 Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Unique Cursive Font – Made in Western Germany
London Typewriters are delighted to present for sale a working Olympia SM8 typewriter with a unique and rare Cursive font.
The majority of typewriters with the most interesting and unique fonts were manufactured in Eastern and Western parts of Germany. This Olympia SM8 (SM – Schreibmaschine) is one of them, representing the excellent quality of German engineering.
The Olympia SM8 is in very good working order and cosmetically well preserved including all chrome features. All of the mechanisms function well and the machine types smoothly, accompanied by the loud ‘Ding’ sound at the end of each line.
The typewriter is designed to type in tables. The typist will be able to choose to type either with black or red ink, when a ribbon with dual colours is installed. Please let us know if you require an additional black/red ribbon.
There is a new black ribbon installed and this solidly built typewriter is ready for immediate action. It comes with its original case which has a comfortable handle.
The overall condition is very good. Very minor signs of age and use are present.
The Olympia SM8 would be suitable for typing art projects, fancy letters or wedding messages.
