Working 1970s Adler Contessa De Luxe Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in Holland
London Typewriters are delighted to offer for sale an Adler Contessa De Luxe portable typewriter which was manufactured in the 1970s, in Holland.
The brand Adler (an eagle in German) originated in Germany and in the late 1960s they opened a plant in Holland.
The typewriter offered for sale is in good working condition. All of the keys work snappily and the rest of the mechanisms function as intended.
The Adler Contessa De Luxe is designed to type in tables.
There is a new black ribbon installed and the typewriter is ready for action. It comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle. Minor signs of use and age, particularly on the decals, are present – please refer to photos.
The English novelist Dame Margaret Drabble wrote novels about her female characters using an Adler Contessa typewriter.
