Working 1970s Olympia Monica Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in Western Germany
Working Olympia Monica vintage, manual portable typewriter in London (U.K). After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was produced during the 1970s. Regardless of such old age, the German machine works very well! The comfortable keys are sturdy and solid when typing and it provides a feeling of confidence to a typist. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon selector (for the colour change), the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This Olympia typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon and it is ready to be used immediately.
The overall working condition is excellent. The typewriter types well and all of the keys work without sticking. Minor signs of use and age are present. Please note that there is some discoloration on the main body of the typewriter – refer to photos.
The Olympia retro typewriter would be suitable for typing long projects, screenplays, books etc. Its would appeal to all generation of typists due to its smooth key action.
