Working 1970s Olympia SM9 Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in Western Germany

$0.00

Working Olympia SM9 vintage, manual portable typewriter available, London, UK.

This typewriter was manufactured in the 1970s, in Western Germany.

It has comfortable keys which are responsive and provide good feedback response to the typist, instilling confidence in your key strike and resulting in an enjoyable typing experience.

All the mechanisms work as intended and the keys function without sticking. At the end of each line, there is an impressive ‘Ding’ sound from the bell.

This Olympia SM9 is designed to type in tables. In addition, there is a touch control lever which allows the typist to select a suitable response to suit your personal strike force.

This sturdy typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it, without any inconvenience. Also, it comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.

The typewriter is fully restored and its overall condition is very good. Minor signs of age and use are present. Please note that the zip of the case is damaged (photo attached) hence the case closes only half-way. However, if the Olympia is in use and left on a desk, there is no requirement to put it the case which is designed for transporting the machine.

The retro Olympia SM9 would be a good starting machine for a typist who has little or no experience of using typewriters. It would prove to be a very robust machine for typing long projects and would appeal to all generations.
