Working Underwood Standard Four Bank vintage, manual portable typewriter was manufactured in the mid to late 1920’s. The Underwood works well, despite being more than 90 years old.

The white keys in metal rims are protected by glass to prevent wear and tear. They are easy and light to use making the whole process of typing enjoyable and smooth. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, margin setters, ribbon colour switch, carriage release lever, the paper guides and the paper release lever all work as intended. This American made typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so it is ready for action as soon as you receive it.  Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.

The overall condition is good. All of the letter keys work and the typewriter operates as expected. Minor signs of use and age are present.

The world famous American novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald created ‘The Great Gatsby’ by using the Underwood portable typewriter, which was very popular during the 1920’s.
