Working And Serviced 1930’s Royal Standard Typewriter – New Ribbon, Original Spools – Cork Platen – Made in USA
Working Royal Standard typewriter in London (U.K.). After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was manufactured in the 1930’s, USA. Regardless of such old age, the Royal works well! The comfortable keys are light and smooth when typing and it makes the whole process effortless and enjoyable. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, margin setters, ribbon colour switch, the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. The Royal typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon and it is ready for immediate action. It also comes with the original metal spools.
This machine has a single toned removable panel on each side for easy access to the mechanism and is also a design feature.
Please note that this is a standard/office typewriter so it is heavier than the portable models – the weight is around 13kg. Shipping can be arranged.
The mechanics of the typewriter are good. All letter keys work well without sticking. Minor signs of age and use are present.
The Royal Standard typewriter is suitable for writers and journalists. As it is solidly built, it would be appropriate for typing long projects. It would also look nice as a center-piece in a office.
