Working And Serviced 1960s Olympia Monica Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Extra Keys For Typing In German And French – Made in Western Germany
Working Olympia Monica vintage, manual portable typewriter in London (U.K.). After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was manufactured in the 1960s. Regardless of its age, the machine works very well! The comfortable keys are responsive and comfortable to use when touch typing for long periods of time. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon colour switch, the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This German made typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so you can begin typing as soon as you get it. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.
The main feature of this beautiful typewriter is that it is cleverly designed for use by typists in three languages: English (QWERTY key layout), French (contains accents keys) and German (contains a special umlaut key).
The overall condition is good. All of the keys work and the Olympia Monica functions as expected. Minor signs of use and age are present. Please note the panel behind the cylinder has a crack which has been repaired. Please refer to the photos.
This sturdy and reliable German typewriter would be ideal for writers, authors and journalists. It would also make a wonderful present. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the Olympia typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It appeals to all generations.
