Working and Serviced 1969 Royal Sprite Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in Japan
London Typewriters are delighted to present for sale a 1969 Royal Sprite typewriter.
The typewriter was manufactured in Japan.
This Royal Sprite is an uncommon typewriter for the British market. It was made for typing in countries which use a dollar currency. Also, surprisingly for the typewriter from the late 1960s, it contains signs of @ and #, which makes the typewriter very current for modern use.
The Royal Sprite has undergone restoration and now functions and types well. The keys are light and comfortable when typing. There is a sweet ‘Ding’ sound at the end of each line.
This Royal Sprite is equipped with a touch control key allowing the typist to adjust the keys to their preference. Also, the typewriter is designed to set tables allowing the typist to type in columns when required.
A new black ribbon is installed and the Royal Sprite is ready for immediate action. It comes with a case which has a comfortable handle.
Overall condition is good. The typewriter types well. Obvious signs of age and use are present – please refer to photos. Please note that the keys have some discoloration.
The Royal Sprite typewriter is suitable for typists of any typing experience. As it is relatively light in weight, it can be taken to a writing retreat. Also, it would look attractive on an office desk.
