Working And Serviced Kappel Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – For Typing in English, Danish and Norwegian – Made in Germany

Kappel was founded in 1860 and manufactured embroidery and other textile machinery and later produced standard typewriters in Germany. Kappel portable typewriters went into production in 1933 and ceased to exist as a typewriter manufacturer after being destroyed in 1945, shortly before the end of World War II.

This Kappel typewriter for sale was most likely produced around 1949 by the German typewriter manufacturer Olympia, as it has very identical specifications to the Olympia Progress typewriter.

The Kappel has held up well over the years as it appears neat in appearance, with minimal damage and is fully mechanically functional.

The machine has been thoroughly cleaned. The keys work without jamming, all mechanisms work as expected.

A new black ribbon is installed and the machine is ready to go. It comes with the original case which has a durable handle.

This particular Kappel typewriter was designed to type in English (has a key with a Β£ sign), Danish and Norwegian and the machine was brought to us from Denmark.

It can also be used to type in tables.

The overall condition is very good for this 75 year old typewriter. It shows minor signs of age and use (see photos).

The Kappel typewriter is suitable for multilingual typists who wish to type either in English, Danish and Norwegian. It will appeal to writers, historians and enthusiasts who will appreciate this magnificent piece of typewriter history.
