Working And Serviced Late 1960s Facit 1620 Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in Sweden
London Typewriters are offering for sale a rare working Facit 1620 portable typewriter. The typewriter was a success of the Swedish typewriter manufacturing industry. This particular model was made in the late 1960s for typing in English.
The Facit 1620 is a well thought through design, as the keys are soft and noiseless when typing. The whole typing experience with this typewriter is effortless and pleasurable. A rare Scandinavian find, it is in perfect working condition. All the mechanisms work smoothly and the keys work without sticking. The typewriter is equipped with a black ink ribbon. So, it is ready to be used straight out of the box. It also comes with the case which has a comfortable handle.
It is worth noting that the typewriter is an advanced model compared to some widely manufactured typewriters in the 1960s. It has a memory recall tabulator, an erasure table and a five position touch control, which make the Facit unique and progressive. Furthermore, the beige colour of the machine compliments the burgundy keys intended to make the typing process fun.
The overall condition is very good. Minor signs of age and use are present.
The world famous Swedish writer Astrid Lindgred created her children stories by usung the Facit. Probably, the well-known ‘Pippi Longstocking’ was written on one of these typewriters.
