Working Early 1920s Corona Folding Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case, Manual – Made in USA
A very unique antique find in the world of typewriters! A “folding” black Corona from the 1920s in working condition. As you can see, the typewriter has a classic font. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon colour switch, the carriage release lever, the paper guides and the paper release lever all work as intended. This magnificent Corona typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so you can use it immediately. Also comes with the original compact case which has a comfortable handle.
The typewriter has a few note worthy features such as the metal rim keys which are protected with glass from the letter paint wearing off. The folding carriage provides a space saving option.
This folding Corona is actually smaller in size and light in weight than it looks and was primarily used by travelling professionals such as journalists and authors.
The overall condition is very good. All of the keys work and the Corona types well. There are minor signs of use on the metal body of the typewriter. Please note the case is in slightly worn out condition.
Ernest Hemmingway wrote his famous novels by using the Corona Folding typewriter.
The Corona typewriter is of an iconic design and would be of interest to connoisseurs of antique machinery. This typewriter would be ideal for a traveller and would be a great idea as a gift. Most definitely it would be popular at any thematic event such as a wedding or movie.
The vintage Corona typewriter is located in London (U.K.).
