Working vintage Imperial The Good Companion manual portable typewriter in London (U.K.)
According to the the serial code, the typewriter was manufactured in the early 1950s. This English made machine works well. The comfortable keys are responsive and solid when typing and it provides a sense of confidence and firmness to the typist when typing .The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon and it is ready for immediate action. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.
Please note that the typist will be able to use a one colour ribbon at a time.
The overall condition is good. All of the keys work as expected. Minor signs of age and use are present – please refer to photos.
The Imperial Good Companion Model T, similar to the offered typewriter, was a favourite of John Lennon’s!
