Working Early 1970s Imperial Signet Portable Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in Japan


The Imperial Signet portable typewriter was manufactured in the 1970s, in Japan.

Despite such age, the light grey Imperial Signet works well! The comfortable keys are responsive and light making typing on it effortless and enjoyable. All the mechanisms work as intended.

This model is designed to use one colour ribbon at a time.

This Japanese made typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so it is ready for immediate use. Also, it comes with the case which has a comfortable handle.

The overall condition is good. The keys type well and do not stick. Minor signs and age of use are present – please refer to photos.

The Imperial Signet would be ideal for a traveller as it is small in size and light in weight. The typewriter could be a starting point for a typewriter novice. It will also be a unique gift.
