Working Early 1970s Olivetti Valentine Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – For Typing in English and Swedish – Cubic Font – Made in Barcelona, Spain

London Typewriters offer for sale a working and serviced Olivetti Valentine portable typewriter, which was manufactured in the Olivetti plant, in Barcelona.

The Olivetti Valentine typewriter was designed by a famous Italian architect and designer Ettore Sottsass in the 1960s. He used his personal experience from travelling in the USA and India to create the Olivetti Valentine and other designer objects. To design his products, Ettorre Sottsass employed plastic laminate in asymmetrical shapes with a modernist look and solid bold colours. As a result, the Olivetti Valentine became a fashionable piece of hardware to own in the 1970s, often used by celebrities like Brigitte Bardot. This model was a transition by the Olivetti brand from formal office typewriters to more informal stylized machines.

The Olivetti Valentine typewriter offered for sale is in good working order. All the mechanisms work as intended and the keys type smoothly and almost noiselessly, creating a delightful feeling for the typist when interacting with this Olivetti Valentine.

This model is designed to type in English and Swedish and has a cubic font.

It comes with a new black ribbon and can be used straight after arrival. The original case is provided which has a comfortable handle.

Overall condition is very good. Minor signs of use and age are present – please refer to photos.

The Olivetti Valentine typewriter would be suitable for typists of various typing skills and styles. It would suit typists with a soft touch or hand problems. This bright red typewriter would be a centrepiece at any thematic event, wedding or just a memorable gift for any occasion.
