Working Early 1980s Silver Reed 500 Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in Japan
London Typewriters are delighted to offer for sale another solid contender from the Japanese Silver Seiko manufacturer.
The Silver Reed 500, made in the early 1980s, works perfectly well, accompanied with a snappy key action.
This medium size typewriter has a new black ribbon installed and it is ready for action, straight out of the box.
The Silver Reed 500 has the following advanced features: impression regulator to achieve either heavy or light impressions on paper, if required; also has a repeat spacebar which enables fast travel of the carriage to the left and, it has a tab set and clear selector, for typing in tables.
If you are looking for a typewriter for heavy duty typing, then this Silver Reed 500 would be ideal. Due to the light key action, it would also be suitable for typists with hand stiffness or typists of a younger generation.
