Working end of 1930’s Remington ‘Streamliner’ Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Black (Cast Iron Appearance) – Made in USA
Working Remington ‘Streamliner’ vintage, manual portable typewriter in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was manufactured at the end of 1930’s. This design belongs to the last Remington brand machines made in USA. Despite being eighty years old, the machine works very well! The comfortable keys are responsive and strong in sound when pressed and it gives a sensation of confidence to the typist. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, ribbon colour switch, the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This black cast iron looking Remington typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it, without any inconvenience. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle.
The overall condition is good. The keys type well and the machine functions as a whole. Minor signs of use and age are present – please refer to the photos.
This intriguing Remington machine would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also be a unique gift. Due to the style and the aesthetics of the typewriter, it can be used for display purposes like home decor and events such as exhibitions and weddings. It would probably appeal to older generations of typists with previous experience of using a manual typewriter.
The Remington ‘Streamliner’ typewriter is located in London, UK.
