Working Late 1950s Empire Aristocrat Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made In England

The late 1950s Empire Aristocrat represents one of the last models made in West Bromwich, England by the manufacturer, just before the production of the Empire Aristocrat was discontinued.

The typewriter offered for sale is in working order and functions as expected, apart of the caps lock. The square comfortable keys allow the typing process to flow smoothly. The typewriter has wing-shaped spool covers and a strong sound of the bell at the end of each line.

There is a black ink ribbon installed and the machine is ready for instant use. The metal original case is provided which has a comfortable handle.

The model is designed for typing only with one colour ribbon at a time.

Compared to the previous grey velvety more finishing of the Empire Aristocrat typewriters, this particular model has a stippled effect of the light green/grey colour. Unfortunately, the bottom front corners of the base are worn out and not over-painted. But the beauty of this typewriter is it is original.

The overall mechanical condition is good. Signs of use and age are present – please refer to photos. Please note that the caps lock is not working. However, the shift key is sufficient enough to type in capital letters.

This Empire Aristocrat is a portable typewriter so would be very suitable for travelling, the typist would be able to keep typing by placing the typewriter on their lap. It is suitable for typists of any generations and typing skill
The Empire Aristocrat is located in London (U.K.).
