According to the serial code, the typewriter was manufactured in the 1970s, in Japan.
Despite such age, the original navy blue machine works very well! The comfortable keys are responsive and light making typing on it effortless and enjoyable. All the mechanisms work as intended.
This Japanese made typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so it is ready for immediate use. Unfortunately, there is no case for this Silver – Reed.
The overall condition is very good. The keys type well and do not stick. Minor signs and age of use are present.
The Silver-Reed Silverette would be ideal for a traveller as it is small in size and light in weight. The typewriter could be a starting point for a typewriter novice. It will also be a unique gift.
