Working Silver Reed SR 280 De Luxe Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case

London Typewriters are delighted to offer for sale a Silver Reed SR 280 De Luxe typewriter.

The country of origin and the year of manufacturing are unknown. However, Silver Reed typewriters were mostly manufactured in Japan. Also, it is worth noting that the font of this particular machine resembles the font of the German typewriter brand Olympia. The typewriter has a modern appearance with a curvy shape to the body.

This Silver Reed SR 280 De Luxe is in good working condition. The keys are very light when typing and there is a touch control lever which allows the typist to adjust the keys to suit your personal touch. There is a repeat spacer key to get to the required point quicker rather than pressing the space bar several times.

All the mechanisms work very well.

The typewriter is fairly advanced compared to other modern typewriters as it has a pound and a dollar key, plus a number 1 key, which is rare for a typewriter.

There is a new black ink ribbon installed and the typewriter is ready for action. It comes with a fancy case.

Please note that one of the lock clips on the front of the case is missing. However, the typewriter stays firmly in the case with the second lock clip.
