Working Vintage 1930’s Remington Typewriter-New Ribbon, Case

London Typewriters offer for sale a working vintage Remington typewriter.

The typewriter has no evidence of its title, a specific year of manufacture or country of origin.

Working with a wide range of manual typewriters, we are certain that this model is a Remington typewriter as it has all the original features and design of the most common and well known Remington brand. Such models were manufactured in the 1920’s-1930’s in the USA or, the parts were manufactured in the USA and the machines assembled in the UK.

During the 1930’s the American economy suffered a major downturn and the Remington manufacturer had to adapt to the severe effects of the Great American Depression by limiting the design of the famous typewriter to a minimum. Therefore. the present model lacks decals, the ribbon colour switch, the right margin, the bell and paper support.

Despite all of this and taking into account such a milestone, this typewriter has preserved all its functions and also cosmetically, looks really neat. The solid metal rim keys are strong and comfortable and it provides a sense of stability and sturdiness to the typist. All the mechanisms work as intended.

This beautiful typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon and it is ready for action. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable hand-made handle.

This ninety years old typewriter is in good working order. Minor signs of age and use are present.

A plethora of world famous writers such as Agatha Christie, George Orwell and Virginia Woolf preferred to use the Remington typewriter.

This typewriter would be an inspiring model to authors and writers. Due to its sleek and glossy looks, it would be an excellent center piece at a wedding, exhibition, office or home. It would also make an ideal present. This typewriter would probably suit a typist who is already familiar with typewriters.

The vintage Remington typewriter is located in London (U.K.).
