Working Vintage 1957 Optima Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in East Germany
Working Optima vintage, manual portable typewriter in London, UK. After some research on the serial code, I concluded that it was produced in 1957 . Regardless of such old age, the Optima typewriter works very well! The comfortable burgundy keys are responsive and smooth when typing and it makes the whole experience of typing, enjoyable and effortless. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, ribbon colour switch, the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. This typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it, without any hassle. The typewriter comes with the original case and has a comfortable handle.
The overall condition is excellent. The keys type well and the Optima functions as expected. Minor signs of use and age are present.
