Working 1961 Olympia Typewriter – New Ribbon, Case – Made in Western Germany
This Olympia is a great example of continued perfection from the Western German typewriter maker. According to the serial code, the typewriter was manufactured in 1961. Taking into account the typewriter’s age, it retains all necessary functions which work well. The backspace, carriage return lever, the bell, the shift keys, carriage lock, margin setters, the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever perform their tasks as expected. A new black ribbon is installed and the machine is ready for action. The petite size typewriter comes with the original case and a comfortable handle.
The overall condition is great. All the letter keys work without sticking. Minor signs of age and use are present. Please refer to the photos.
This typewriter would be ideal for anyone who travels, as it does not take much space. The beige colour of the body and the burgundy colour of the keys compliment each other therefore, it would look attractive on a desk or, would also make an ideal present. The typewriter would suit any typist regardless of typing skills.
Woody Allen, as a writer, has never parted from his Olympia typewriter for the last thirty years.
The vintage Olympia typewriter is located in London, UK.
