Working vintage Smith-Corona Corsair manual portable typewriter in London (U.K.).
The typewriter was manufactured in the 1970s, in England.
The Smith-Corona Calypso has bee restored to its working condition. The backspace, carriage return lever, the shift keys, margin setters, ribbon colour switch, the carriage release lever, the paper guide and the paper release lever all work as intended. The light keys are responsive and soft when typing and it really makes typing effortless and simple.
This portable typewriter is fitted with a new black ribbon and can be used immediately on arrival. Also comes with the case which has a comfortable handle.
The overall condition is good. Minor signs of use and age are present. Please note that there is a misalignment on paper when typing the letters A, S and Z – please refer to photos.
The retro Smith-Corona Corsair typewriter is small in size and light in weight. Therefore it would be ideal if you plan to travel with it.
